- The global refrigerated trailer market was expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 4.8% between 2016 and 2022. There are many indicators, however, that these numbers may go higher.
- The average size of a reefer trailer is between 28 and 53 feet in length and no more than 13.5 feet in height and the maximum weight a reefer trailer can carry is 44,000 pounds, so by sheer size it is important to note that these units play significant roles in the life span of both interstates and highways.
- The temperature range of a refrigerated trailer can vary from -20 degrees to 70 degrees Fahrenheit. As a result, these refrigerated trucks can serve a number of purposes. From pharmaceutical shipping to grocery store items, these trailers are an important part of the nation’s economy.
- Just five years ago in 2015, the global refrigerated market was valued at just over $5 billion. By the year 2022, however, this market expected to increase by another $2 billion, and there are many who believe that the pandemic will make those numbers grow even higher.
Literally fueling the economy, the sale of new and used reefer trailers has played a role in the way the way the nation has functioned during the pandemic. It is likely, in fact, that there are many Americans who will never look at grocery store workers and truck drivers the same.
