Most of the time (if you’re lucky) your car is going to be running smoothly and without issue. That means that maintenance might not be the top thing on your mind. however, getting your car serviced regularly is going to be crucial for making sure that those problems stay away and that your car remains running properly for some time to come.

Generally, there is a lot to keep track of when it comes to car maintenance so it’s a good idea to find a service shop that you trust and like to regularly service your car. They will be able to keep track of what’s been done and when so that you no longer have to worry about it.

You might think that you keep up on your maintenance but a lot of people have fallen behind. In fact, some 77 percent of cars on average are in need of service at any given time. As many as 16 percent of cars are low on their coolant levels at any given time, and 18 percent are low on brake fluid.

One form of car service that might be necessary from time to time is radiator service. Radiator service is generally needed after 100,000 miles of driving. If it’s not maintained as it should be it can create some serious overheating issues that lead to a breakdown. This can easily be avoided if you just keep up with the maintenance, however.

Getting an oil change is also going to be very important maintenance. It’s usually suggested that a car needs it oil changed every three months or every 5,000 miles. Many people won’t go anywhere near driving 5,000 miles in three months, while other people might drive more. Start keeping track to get an idea of how much you actually drive to have a better idea of when these oil change and oil filter maintenance practices should be taking place.

In addition to general maintenance occasionally there might be things that you need fixed such as a crack in the windshield or a ding in the paint. There are actually a few different types of window breaks that require different types of glass repair. The different types are: surface pit, combination break, half moon, bullseye, crack, and star breaks.
